RingCentral connector
RingCentral integration for databases, warehouses and BI tools
Cloud communications with voice, SMS, and meetings. Datrise captures RingCentral entities such as calls, messages, users, queues, and meeting sessions, then lands normalized and typed models for warehouse reporting, attribution, and AI workflows.
The RingCentral Platform API (REST, v1) authenticates with OAuth 2.0, JWT, incremental runs key on dateFrom/dateTo range on the Call Log API (ISO 8601, timezone-offset timestamps); no universal updated-since field across all resources, and RingCentral caps calls at Per-user, per-minute request budgets by API group: 50/min (Light), 40/min (Medium), 10/min (Heavy), 5/min (Auth/token endpoint), reported via X-Rate-Limit-* response headers.
Of the 5 objects, 2 sync as upserts keyed on the primary key and 3 as append-only streams, so each incremental run moves only what changed since the last watermark. Every object lands in its own table (for example `ringcentral_calls`) with a schema derived from the RingCentral API rather than a flattened CSV, in any of the 43 supported destinations.

What RingCentral data Datrise extracts
Each object lands in its own typed table. Sync mode is derived from the object: history-style objects append, everything else upserts.
| Object | Landing table | Sync mode |
|---|---|---|
| calls | ringcentral_calls | Append-only, incremental by timestamp |
| messages | ringcentral_messages | Append-only, incremental by timestamp |
| users | ringcentral_users | Upsert by primary key, incremental on updated-at |
| queues | ringcentral_queues | Upsert by primary key, incremental on updated-at |
| meeting sessions | ringcentral_meeting_sessions | Append-only, incremental by timestamp |
RingCentral API: setup facts for the connector
Verified against the vendor documentation on 2026-09-02. Unknown values are left blank rather than guessed.
| API | RingCentral Platform API (REST, v1) |
|---|---|
| Authentication | OAuth 2.0, JWT — OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code flow (with PKCE) for user-context apps, or the JWT bearer flow for server-to-server access; the legacy Password/ROPC grant was removed on March 31, 2024. |
| Pagination | page — List endpoints such as call log use `page`/`perPage` query params (default 250 records per page, max 1000) and return a `navigation.nextPage` URI when more pages remain. |
| Rate limit | Per-user, per-minute request budgets by API group: 50/min (Light), 40/min (Medium), 10/min (Heavy), 5/min (Auth/token endpoint), reported via X-Rate-Limit-* response headers |
| Incremental cursor | dateFrom/dateTo range on the Call Log API (ISO 8601, timezone-offset timestamps); no universal updated-since field across all resources — Call log data is retained for a maximum of 12 months, so a connector's `dateFrom` cannot reach further back than that regardless of range requested. |
| Webhooks | Yes — Subscription API (WebHook and PubNub notification transports) |
| Bulk export | No |
| Deletes detectable | No — Call log and message records are immutable audit entries with no delete endpoint or tombstone field; there is no general mechanism to detect removed extensions or contacts short of diffing full list snapshots |
What bites when replicating RingCentral
- API groups carry very different per-minute ceilings (10/min Heavy vs 50/min Light vs 5/min Auth), so a connector pulling call log detail (a Heavy endpoint) alongside frequent token refreshes can trip HTTP 429 well before it feels close to any single documented number.
- Call log history is only retained for 12 months, so a `dateFrom` older than that returns nothing regardless of the range requested, and a full historical backfill beyond a year is not possible via the API.
- The Call Log API defaults to 250 records per page even though `perPage` accepts up to 1000, so an unset `perPage` silently quadruples the number of requests needed for a large sync.
- WebHook subscriptions must be renewed before `expiresIn` elapses (default 7 days, though longer lifetimes up to ~20 years can now be requested) or the subscription is silently deleted and notifications stop with no further warning.

RingCentral connector FAQ
- What RingCentral data does the connector extract?
- 5 objects: calls, messages, users, queues and meeting sessions. Each lands in its own table with types preserved; history-style objects (3: calls, messages and meeting sessions) load as append-only streams.
- Is the RingCentral integration incremental?
- Yes. After the initial full load, every run reads only records changed since the last watermark (updated-at or event timestamp) and applies an upsert or an append depending on the object.
- Where can I load RingCentral data?
- Into 43 destinations: relational databases, cloud warehouses, data lakes, spreadsheets and BI tools. Each RingCentral → destination pair has its own page with the object-to-table mapping.
