Twilio connector

Twilio integration for databases, warehouses and BI tools

Communications APIs for SMS, voice, and verification. Datrise captures Twilio entities such as messages, calls, recordings, lookups, and delivery events, then lands normalized and typed models for warehouse reporting, attribution, and AI workflows.

The Twilio REST API (versioned per product, e.g. Messages/Calls 2010-04-01) authenticates with HTTP Basic, incremental runs key on DateCreated / DateUpdated filters (plain YYYY-MM-DD, optionally prefixed with >= or <=) on list resources such as Messages and Calls.

Of the 5 objects, 2 sync as upserts keyed on the primary key and 3 as append-only streams, so each incremental run moves only what changed since the last watermark. Every object lands in its own table (for example `twilio_messages`) with a schema derived from the Twilio API rather than a flattened CSV, in any of the 43 supported destinations.

What Twilio data Datrise extracts

Each object lands in its own typed table. Sync mode is derived from the object: history-style objects append, everything else upserts.

APITwilio REST API (versioned per product, e.g. Messages/Calls 2010-04-01)
AuthenticationHTTP Basic — HTTP Basic Auth using the Account SID and Auth Token, or a scoped API Key SID/Secret pair as a safer alternative to the Auth Token.
Paginationpage — Page / PageSize / PageToken query params (default PageSize 50); responses include next_page_uri and first_page_uri, and official SDKs auto-paginate.

Incremental cursorDateCreated / DateUpdated filters (plain YYYY-MM-DD, optionally prefixed with >= or <=) on list resources such as Messages and Calls — Date filters are resource-specific and use simple calendar dates rather than full ISO-8601 timestamps, so sub-day incremental windows aren't directly filterable.
WebhooksYes — StatusCallback / event webhooks configured per resource (e.g. Message and Call status callbacks)
Bulk exportYes — Bulk Export API (daily GZIP JSON dumps for Messages, Calls, Conferences and Participants)

What bites when replicating Twilio

  • There is no single published REST API rate limit; throttling is enforced per product and per account (e.g. Verify's configurable Max/Interval), surfaced via the Twilio-Concurrent-Requests header rather than a fixed number.
  • DateCreated/DateUpdated filters accept only plain YYYY-MM-DD dates (with optional >=/<= prefixes), not full timestamps, so you can't filter for changes within the same day.
  • Bulk Export covers only Messages, Calls, Conferences and Participants, runs about a day behind, works only in the default US1 region, and generated files are deleted after 7 days.
  • A 429 response carries no universal Retry-After header; the documented remedy is exponential-backoff retries combined with watching Twilio-Concurrent-Requests.

Twilio connector FAQ

What Twilio data does the connector extract?
5 objects: messages, calls, recordings, lookups and delivery events. Each lands in its own table with types preserved; history-style objects (3: messages, calls and delivery events) load as append-only streams.
Is the Twilio integration incremental?
Yes. After the initial full load, every run reads only records changed since the last watermark (updated-at or event timestamp) and applies an upsert or an append depending on the object.
Where can I load Twilio data?
Into 43 destinations: relational databases, cloud warehouses, data lakes, spreadsheets and BI tools. Each Twilio → destination pair has its own page with the object-to-table mapping.
