Constant Contact connector
Constant Contact integration for databases, warehouses and BI tools
Email marketing and event campaigns for small businesses. Datrise captures Constant Contact entities such as contacts, lists, campaigns, email events, segments and event registrations, then lands normalized and typed models for warehouse reporting, attribution, and AI workflows.
The Constant Contact API v3 authenticates with OAuth 2.0, incremental runs key on updated_after (query parameter on GET /v3/contacts), and Constant Contact caps calls at 10,000 requests per day per API key and 4 requests per second, resetting daily at 00:00:00 UTC.
Of the 6 objects, 4 sync as upserts keyed on the primary key and 2 as append-only streams, so each incremental run moves only what changed since the last watermark. Every object lands in its own table (for example `constant_contact_contacts`) with a schema derived from the Constant Contact API rather than a flattened CSV, in any of the 43 supported destinations.

What Constant Contact data Datrise extracts
Each object lands in its own typed table. Sync mode is derived from the object: history-style objects append, everything else upserts.
| Object | Landing table | Sync mode |
|---|---|---|
| contacts | constant_contact_contacts | Upsert by primary key, incremental on updated-at |
| lists | constant_contact_lists | Upsert by primary key, incremental on updated-at |
| campaigns | constant_contact_campaigns | Upsert by primary key, incremental on updated-at |
| email events | constant_contact_email_events | Append-only, incremental by timestamp |
| segments | constant_contact_segments | Upsert by primary key, incremental on updated-at |
| event registrations | constant_contact_event_registrations | Append-only, incremental by timestamp |
Constant Contact API: setup facts for the connector

| API | Constant Contact API v3 |
|---|---|
| Authentication | OAuth 2.0 — OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code (or PKCE) flow with granular scopes such as contact_data, campaign_data, and account_read. |
| Pagination | cursor — GET /v3/contacts returns up to 500 records per page; the next page URL with an opaque cursor is returned in _links.next.href. |
| Rate limit | 10,000 requests per day per API key and 4 requests per second, resetting daily at 00:00:00 UTC |
| Incremental cursor | updated_after (query parameter on GET /v3/contacts) — updated_after is documented for the contacts endpoint; other resources (campaigns, lists) do not expose the same parameter and generally require full list pulls. |
| Webhooks | No |
| Bulk export | Yes — Bulk Activities API — asynchronous contact export to CSV, polled via the activity's status report until status=COMPLETE |
| Deletes detectable | Yes — A contact removed from all lists gets status=REMOVED; a fully deleted contact simply stops appearing in GET /v3/contacts with no tombstone or deleted-contacts endpoint |
What bites when replicating Constant Contact
- The daily quota is only 10,000 requests per API key with a 4 requests/second ceiling, resetting at 00:00:00 UTC, which is easy to exhaust on a first full contacts backfill without pausing between pages.
- V3 API webhooks (`partner_webhook_overview`) exist only for approved ToolKit partners and fire solely on account billing-tier changes, so there is no event-driven way to learn about new or updated contacts.
- Fully deleted contacts leave no `status` or tombstone record — they just vanish from `GET /v3/contacts` — while contacts merely removed from all lists still appear with `status=REMOVED`, so the two cases must be told apart carefully.
- The Bulk Activities export is asynchronous: you must poll the activity's status report until `status=COMPLETE` before the resulting `file_name` CSV URL becomes available.

Constant Contact connector FAQ
- What Constant Contact data does the connector extract?
- 6 objects: contacts, lists, campaigns, email events, segments and event registrations. Each lands in its own table with types preserved; history-style objects (2: email events and event registrations) load as append-only streams.
- Is the Constant Contact integration incremental?
- Yes. After the initial full load, every run reads only records changed since the last watermark (updated-at or event timestamp) and applies an upsert or an append depending on the object.
- Where can I load Constant Contact data?
- Into 43 destinations: relational databases, cloud warehouses, data lakes, spreadsheets and BI tools. Each Constant Contact → destination pair has its own page with the object-to-table mapping.
